Mortgage

Hi, ive been trying to get a mortgage for past few months with no success, every bank i try takes 1 look at my credit report and automatically say no, although i dnt see why bcoz i had jst over 1000 pound debt only (which i have now payd) and got black listed bcoz of this. I have a full time job earning over 20,000 a year and so does my wife. (she has gr8 credit). So why r the banks saying i have to wait til my credit gets better before i can be offerd a mortgage. Can any1 help??? Thanx.

Have you been to a whole market or independent broker or have you been running up and down the high street having credit searches?

    Could you please set out;-

    Purchase price?
    Deposit?

    Gross annual incomes?
    Employment duration?
    Other credit?
    Dependents?
What is the adverse? CCJ/Default? Satisfied? Cause? Lender/Creditor?
    Where have you tried?

You need to check your credit file, to see if there's anything else showing on there that shouldn't be/that you are unaware of. You probably also need to cool off making applications for a little while, as several credit searches in a short period of time will also go against you.

On a side note, when you complete the mortgage application forms, do you write properly?

Sounds if you defaulted on a relatively small debt of £1,000. Which will make lenders very cautious in advancing £'000's with which to buy a house.

Having £1000 debt will not automatically stop you getting a mortgage.

As stated above, did you get any arrears, CCJs or defaults on your credit file?

What mortgage amount are you looking to borrow?
