Holiday taken away

Hello All,
My partner had been assigned a weeks holiday from her work (she didnt request it they put it on her rota as being holiday). 2 weeks later it has now been removed with no warning or explination.

Can an employer give you holiday then take it away?

Did they give her a holiday or mistakingly put somebody else holiday onto your wife's rota; and now they've put it on the right persons?

it'd be worth seeing if somebody else is off that week

1 person is off for 1 of the days but not the whole week.

Interesting point though it could have been a mistake because she didnt ask for the holiday at all.

The employer can allocate and remove holiday as long as they give the correct amount of notice, which I understand is twice the duration of the holiday - so as long as they gave more than two weeks notice it's allowed.

It sounds rather likley that fi she didn't ask for leave then somebody made a mistake. Stupid suggestion here, but I am going to make it anyway - did it occur to her to ask the employer why it was on there when it appeaered on the rota, or why it had been taken off?

She only noticed last night it had been taken away as the new rota was put out. Her manager wasnt around to check with... she is going in to ask today

To allocate holidays they must give notice of at least twice the amount of time ie 2 weeks notice for 1 weeks holiday but to remove holidays they only have to give 1 weeks notice for 1 weeks leave;)
