Unless Northern Ireland is different than the rest of the UK., you'll be waiting forever for the letter. VOSA don't send them out you just book your car in for an MOT and off you go.

    Strange system then...

but there's a number on here http://www.nidirect.gov.uk/how-do-i-book-an-mot-vehicle-test-appointment for bookings, It says they're sent 7 weeks before the MOT so if you give them a call they should be able to help / book you in.

Some of our local MOT testing stations give you the option to give them your address for them to send you a reminder.

But that is purely for them to have your custom.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

The MoT system in N.Ireland isn't the same as in mainland Britain. MoTs are done by a load of civil servants at specialist MoT centres. There are no privately owned MoT test centres. They send out letters to remind you when your MoT certificate is due to expire and to book your motor in for a new test.
  • If i remember correctly the Letter should be with you by now. Maybe give them a call in the morning just to check.
  • Ni direct website will give you the info you need - just checked and the letter should issue seven weeks before expiry. You can book onlIne but not sure if you need the letter
  • Whoops just noticed someone already told you that - sorry reading on my phone must have scrolled too fast!

    Book on-line at http://www.dvtani.gov.uk/onlinebooking/vehicletest.asp

You can chose the test centre, date & time.

Their database should recognise your vehicle from its numberplate and chassis number. I've never needed a 'reminder letter' to do this.
