To clear up a couple of things,
I am not going to use an accountant this year and anyway even if you do don't you have to keep your records?

You dont have to... some people turn up to their accountants with a big box of receipts each year but then you are paying them their hourly rate to do something that you can easily do yourself or get a book keeper to do for you for a fraction of the cost.

  • I wonder if anyone can clear up one other thing to do with being self employed for me please?

I know that you have to register as self employed within 3 months of becoming self employed right.

I became self employed on February 1st 2007 so I have until April 2007 to register as self employed don't I?

I know that you have to offer to pay voluntary national insurance contributions don't you, but if I haven't registered as self employed yet and I intent to in a few weeks time after I have had a go at the job. Will I have to back-pay my N.I contributions since when I began as self employed?

Can anyone clear this up for me about backpaying N.I contributions and also does anyone have an idea of how much N.I contributions I will have to pay each week? Thanks.
