I have an adverse credit history due to an IVA - lump sum IVA which will be paid on completion of an insurance claim - full 100%.

The IVA came about because of my illness and being unable to work.

I want to retrain and have found a job opportunity which requires me to pay £8000 in tuition fees and suggests that I should apply for the CDL.

Has anyone else tried this with an adverse credit history? Did you get your loan?

In an IVA I am not allowed any credit at all. Not sure if this counts as "credit" as such. It cannot be written off even in bankruptcy, but it depends if the bank would let me have the CDL in the first place.
I am now banking with the Co-op whom are one of the CDL providers.

Could be worth a try phoning them I guess.
