I told my wife about this and we went to the Boots near Bond Street station in London.

Problem: 'any size' means 'full size'! Not badly informed staff, there were notices on the counter which clearly stated full size. So we left.

Exit disenchanted Boots customers - at least we didn't make a special journey.

I don't know whether Oxford Street stores have different rules. And I don't care. We won't be making a second attempt. Life's too short.

Got mine today. I forgot my old mascara at home so bought a £1 one to swap. The Clinique at Boots in Croydon will only give you one if you book yourself in for a free makeover or a skin check in the next 2-3 months. Of course you can always book yourself in and then cancel it just for the mascara, but I'll probably go for a skin check and they may give me some sample sized skincare products to try

It was a lot more straightforward last year when they did it in Debenhams, just hand it in and swap!

yes I found that at boots Cambridge,the sa had booked me in before I realised what she was doing,choice of having lipstick or eyemake up done then there is an offer on to buy some and get a gift(there was a leaflet but the sa did not give me one)as it is a 2 hour round trip there is no way I am going to keep the appointment and suggest anyone else who thinks this is abit of a con should do the same then clinique may get the message!

Thanks, I got mine today from Liverpool, Speke and I didn't have to have a beauty consultation; probably recognised that I wasn't the type to buy their skincare!
Gave in an empty full-sized one.
