Best mini portable speaker - Wowee One or similar?

Hi,

I am looking a for a mini portable speaker for my MP3 player.I have a bigger docking station but need something small to carry around the house when pottering and the docking station is too cumbersome for that.

I have seen the ads and read good reviews for the Wowee one but also spotted XMI speakers on Amazon, good reviews but obviously not so popular as the Wowee...

Also found this, much more expensive but I do like my music so would consider paying this...

If anyone uses either of these or something similar I would love to hear your opinion on the sound quality.

I've got two of the xmi mini ones.
You can daisy chain up to 6 of them together for a really powerful sound. It is only mono, but surprisingly powerful.

Yours looks like the next step.

What did you go for? I really like the look of the XMI X-Mini Max 2 speakers. Mine are good, but those look so much better. Am so tempted to buy.

I've been using a £12 X Mini II daily since October 2009, & cannot recommend it highly enough.

A product this cheap shouldn't be so good. The battery still lasts ages between charges.

I haven`t ordered yet - the Wowee one has loads of reviews but my gut feeling is that the gel base is a bit of a gimmick. Curently swinging between the XMI Mac 2 speaker or the more expensive options like Jawbone Jambox or Monster Iclarity. The latter are more than I intended to spend but music is my pleasure. I don`t really know much about them so need to google some reviews befire I decide. When i buy one I will post back and let you know how it sounds.
