What to do when I seem to be between sizes?

Hi all
Have never posted on this board before but have followed some posts and you all seem a friendly lot
I seem to be stuck between two jeans sizes at the moment
I was a size 18 but started losing weight in August last year, I got down to a size 12 by November, now the size 12 jeans are just too big, I got a pair of size 10 in Tesco just before Christmas and they fitted and still do fit perfect but every other size 10 I have tried are too small. The only one of my 12's that fit are super skinny ones from Primark but I can't keep wearing them every day
Any idea? Do I just hook my 12's up with a belt until the 10's fit?
Thanks for any advice

Hi and welcome:) Well done on your weight loss:j a lot would depend on if your planning on losing any more weight, personally I dont like the look of jeans that dont fit properly hitched up or not, I would recommend trying jeans with lycra in them so you have a bit of give in a size 10, they will also snap back into shape when you wash them, the difference in sizing in shops is just silly, from my own knowledge the high street shops that sizing comes up bigger are Tesco, M&S, Next, Oasis and Peacocks, Primark are pretty accurate as are New Look and shops that come up small are H&M, Top Shop, La Senza and most designer wear but of course with all these your shape and they style of jeans you choose will make a difference. Not to my taste but Gap jeans have a good reputation and my personal fav is H&M as they have a lot of different cuts, I like regular squin which are not too low rise but still low enough not to be frumpy and nice and skinny on the leg, also boyfriend jeans look lovely and are really comfy so might be worth checking out my favs are from River Island - good luck:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

Hi, congratulations on the weight loss!!
Since it seems like you'd rather continue losing weight and fit into size tens, I'd say just buy a couple of nice belts for your jeans for now, until you can comfortably wear the size tens.
In my opinion, it is better to have clothes slightly baggy than having the unfortunate "muffin top" overspill from tight jeans.0 -
Thanks both
:D am going to have a look on the websites of the stores. Definitely don't want the muffin top  0 -
I'm small anyway and when I buy very low or even low rise jeans I seem to have a muffin top that doesnt actually exist, so its not really a weight thing but about choosing the right style to suit your shape:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

I'm always between sizes- made worse by TOTM when I can go up or down a size too so just when I think I fit something, I don't!
I think maybe try a few different brands as not all stores fit me the same. Places like TKMaxx are good because they not only stock different brands but they stock them side by side- not even Department stores do this (well, maybe in the sale). I'd also suggest with jeans to try places like Levis (then go hunt for them in TKMaxx!) as in the Levis stores themselves have far more sizes for example 29" 30" 31" 32" 33" etc rather then most other stores who sell 29" 31" 33".
Also, if you've just recently lost weight, wait for a little bit longer until you spend loads on things as you may find your dress size changes a bit more as things take time to settle. Maybe things like lycra fitted trousers or even leggings (can still look good if you wear them with the right things!) Gap and sports stores (Sports Direct) can be good for thicker black tight trouses.0 -
The bigger jeans, with a belt
