In April and May 2006, the Discovery Channel documented one expedition group's Mount Everest summit attempt from start to finish, in one of the deadliest and most controversial seasons on record.
Using high-tech filming techniques including high-altitude videography and cameras mounted on Sherpa helmets, the six-part production captures the amazing journey of people striving to reach the highest of all goals.
The expedition was organized and managed by Russell Brice, one of the mountain's most experienced leaders, and Discovery's crew was allowed to follow the trek to the top.
Everest: Beyond The Limit puts viewers on the summit of Everest, documenting the two-month expedition and the struggles, highs, low points and triumphs as people from all walks of life attempt to reach the world's tallest peak
If you've got a sense of adventure but think that scaling Everest is a tad ambitious, then perhaps you should read on because here comes an opportunity that's just too good to miss.
To mark the premiere of this truly awe-inspiring series, Discovery Channel are offering one lucky winner and a friend a skiing trip to stunning Chamonix, France, this March. The incredible prize package including flights, accommodation, transfers, equipment rental and lift passes.
