Ginger question

Options
Hi ladies,

I'm making a ginger and pecan cake tomorrow which has crystalised ginger in the ingredients. I couldn't find it in Sainsbury's tonight, they only had stem ginger in syrup or glace ginger, so I got the glace, will this be OK?

TIA

  • Sorry I can't answer your question but I buy crystalised ginger from Holland & Barrett every Christmas for my dad.

  • Glace will be fine for the cake. Crystalised ginger is basically glace that is dried a bit and coated with extra sugar granules.
    Put the kettle on. ;)

I always use stem ginger as I have a large jar, I drain the liquid off so it doesn't make the mixture too wet, you could add a bit of extra sugar?
