Hi Piratess. I know the feeling I am in a similar situation. In my situation I emailed the company and explained that I am having some financial worries and would they accept reduced payments for a few months. They agreed to a smaller payment for 3 months so thats a start and helped to get me back on track. Its best to contact them asap to stop any further letter or calls. Stress to them that you want to pay the debt as quick as possible but you cant pay what you dont have and so you will pay what you can afford until you are in a better situation. There is no point them forcing you to pay more than you have as you will defualt and thats more hassle for you and them. i have found recently that companies are including details of debt councelling services with their letters and seem quite prepared to come up with reduced payments - more so than when I tried in the past anyway. Dont feel uncomfortable calling them and stick to your guns. They will try to get more out of you but explain how much you have left over and hopefully they will agree. Then have a nice cup of tea and a biscuit and hopefully breath a sigh of relief ! all the best !0

I'm not sure how much help I can give but I do advise you to tell OH the situation you are in. At the very least you've shared your burden, you have someone to talk to about it anddon't have to hide post from him or race him to the phone. Maybe he'll be willing to help you out financially...0
