They get good reviews (google search) and the sound is very good for the size of the unit (only had it out of the box about an hour). Down side is that they are not truly portable as are mains 240V only, but will do me in the cottage en France!!

good, you'll need a decent volume level to drown out the noise of all the frogs chomping on garlic and onions

I'm going to be taking the smoothie maker back. First use fine, second use blade segment dropped off bottom of jug assembly, third use the whole bottom of the jug is stuck to the main blender unit. If all are like mine they're probably best avoided and it would be better to get a branded name.
