Tax Rebate

I have recently moved house and picked up post from my old house and found I had a letter from HRMC with a tax rebate to be issued. The letter was dated 12th Dec and up until now I haven't receieved a cheque so I rang them up and said the cheque was issued on Dec 13th its now 5th Jan and I still haven't receieved anything.
Should I just wait for it to come through even though its been over 3 weeks or ask for the cheque to be cancelled and resent and wait 6 weeks?
Many thanks

Sounds like you've not had much experience with HMRC...! Three weeks in HMRC land is absolutely nothing - nothing at all! Even after cheques are issued, they can take absolutely weeks to go through their processing channels and to arrive on your doorstep. I think I waited 3 months after my cheque was approved!
Plus, Christmas post...
If you're not going back to the house continually to check, then I'd ask for it to be re-sent. But if you're happy dropping in for more weeks then you might as well wait. But it could be a fair few weeks.
KiKi' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0 -
if youve been on JSA, and just got back into work, they should have your bank dets for a BACS payment..
