  • Well, I managed to oversleep massively today, if it wasn't for DS1 setting his alarm I'd have slept until 10 I think!

Felt totally disorgansed for the first day of term, bags not ready and DS2's lunchbox came out of his bag all mouldy - yuk! Not me who left it like this you understand, he was at his Dad's on the last day of term and his bag only came back to me on Sunday. It's a fabric one so I'm hoping a spin in the washing machine will sort it out. Tesco's bag for him today!

Made my own lunch too, with home made bread from the breadmaker, so that was positive, although it was all a big rush and I felt disorganised all day because of it. Got the "week" wrong too, so I thought I had certain lessons and I actually had different ones

Anyway, I went off to the stop smoking nurse after work and got a supply of Champix. Took the first one already even though you are supposed to take them in the morning 'cos I wanna get those tablets in my system and lose the cigarettes - I hate them and I hate what they cost me - would have had a NSD today if it wasn't for them

Got home and blitzed the house for a couple of hours, and now feel a bit more organised. Washing is on, Pizza dough in breadmaker for dinner and the kids uniforms are already out in their rooms ready for a more organised morning tomorrow!

DS1 kindly popped his £2.50 change from his dinner money into the sealed pot which was good. And I put in the change from my packet of cigarettes - out of a tenner that is not much :(

I have some watchers on some ebay items and a few bids. Luckily I have bids on 2 out of the 3 items I really wouldn't want to list at 99p, so they will sell (started at £5). The rest can be relisted until they sell as far as I am concerned, as they are all at 99p and so free listings. If it all sells I'll struggle to find time to package and post it so in a way I hope it doesn't!

Off the get DS2 now from the childminders and then I REALLY MUST do some school planning for the rest of the week - my head is in MSE mode and needs to get into work mode! :money:

Subscribed!!:) Well done on everything you have done so far, especially the giving up smoking!!

N.B If it was the £4 screen wash from ASDA then you can get the same sized one in Poundstretcher for £1.40- not sure on comparible quality but its only screen wash...

    Keep up the good work!!

Hi Pinot - lots of rambling from me too - I'm also a talker :)

It's good to write down now to get your thoughts in order, but also hopefully good motivation in the future to see how far we've come.

Love the user name btw, my favourite wine :T

  • A busy evening and it's late now but I am feeling a bit more organised. The house is clean and tidy and all the washing is up to date with the last few bits drying on the radiators. Lunch boxes are made up on the side ready to have sandwiches and yoghurts put in in the morning. Uniforms and work clothes are out in bedrooms and schoolbags have been checked for essential communications. I've done some work for school and at least know what lessons I am teaching tomorrow!

I have bids and a ton of watchers on ebay so it looks like my sealed pot will get a boost later this week - if I am going to the effort of listing it is definately going into the Christmas fund and not disappearing into the bank account.

I've found out today that I am eligible for tax relief on teaching union fees, OK, it's not alot (about £4 per month I think) but apparently you can claim 6 years back! I will definately be pursuing that later in the week - could be over £250 :T

Anyway, off to bed now as it's late and I don't want another chaotic morning where we all oversleep.

Hi there  I've enjoyed reading your diary so far. I just popped on to wish you good luck and to tell you that my husband, who used to smoke anything between 25 and 40 cigs a day, managed to stop using Champix. He's not smoked for 19 months now and he actually says it disgusts him. Stick with it. He felt sick a bit at first but persevered - and he said he had almost resigned himself to smoking until the day he died.

By the way, did you get £6 back from Tesco? :)

Hi TTG, you were sounding very organised in your last post. It really helps to have everything set out and waiting in the mornings. I have to do this when I'm on early shifts as up at 5am and my brain doesn't function at that time in the morning. :o

The birthday list in your Mum's purse is a very good idea - I do have a couple of birthdays coming up very soon. I've been using gift vouchers from survey panels to try and calm the spendy-itis. Have been buying things for the house that we need but don't like spending "real" money on i.e. tootbrush heads and mattress protectors - the glamour. :rotfl:
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,345, Car loan CC 0% BT £4900. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.

Hi, still not had a chance to catch up totally with your diary, but just read your last few posts. You sounded very organised last night. I seem to go in spurts, totally organised days and evenings, then complete car crash ones ! Ive always found it useful to lay all the uniforms out the night before, I now ask DD1 ( nearly 14) to lay her own uniform out to save me the job. Cant quite get my head around the fact its something weve being doing she was 3, but at the age of 14 cant seem to quite comprehend the meaning of it. This morning for example I swear she wasted at least 20 mins wandering aimlessly around the house half dressed, apparently looking for tights and school shirt yet she told me the night before she was organised and ready ! Teenageers never cease to amaze me at the moment !

Hope this evening is as organised as last night

    Hi Jackie

Brilliant that your husband quit from 40 down to 0 - good for him! That's where I want to be! Yes, I got the £6 from Tesco and it went in my sealed pot:T
