Thanks for your kind words and congratulations, Rochdale_Guy, SAAC and Fabulass :T

I'm still kind of expecting another letter from Lloyds to say it was all a big joke... I mean, I'm never usually lucky enough even to win a raffle prize ;)

I know that PPI reclaiming isn't the same as winning something through sheer luck, but I spent a long time thinking it wasn't worth trying to reclaim because I'm not the sort of person to get good breaks like this... :o

So for anyone reading this - get the PPI claims in motion... next time it could be you with the brilliant news!

However, now, thanks to Sofa-Bean's brilliant result, I might get get my bum into gear!

    Please can I join in?

I can't ever remember signing up for PPI for any of the millions (slight exaggeration) of loans we've had over the years but I have decided to find out. With the amount of money we've borrowed, surely there must be one that slipped through the net. So last night I got Mr Jam to dig out our old computer. We've had that many loans I can't even remember half of them :o but fortunately I've been using Microsoft Money for as long as I can remember so any loan payments will be on there. I do vaguely remember PPI mysteriously appearing on Mr Jam's Virgin CC statement - it took several phone calls and several more months for them to remove it so I'm going to start with that one.

Good news is I have found records of transactions from our bank account going back 10 years :D LLoyds TSB, Bank of Scotland, Alliance & Leicester, Cahoot .... the list goes on.

Bad news ... I don't have a scrap of paperwork to prove it. At least now I know the names of the banks we borrowed from so tomorrow I'm going to sit down and read Martin's guide on what to do next.

WOW ....Well done Sofa_Bean  over the moon for you...its a great feeling getting a chunk of your debt repaid....I am still chasing one PPI up ...the other two paid my refund straight to my debt and I sent a copy of the letters to the CCCS and they adjusted my figures... was great seeing my debt free date coming forward by 2 years ...

    Good luck to everyone else..x
