If you frequent the reclaims section, it can leave you a little jaded when you see some people openly putting in complaints as they have nothing to lose. So, I can understand the reactions.

Also, if you have ever had a fraudulent try-it-on complaint then you may also feel differently. I have had two fraudulent complaints. I know a mortgage adviser last year that got one from a claims company who were complaining about mis-sold PPI and there was no PPi recommended or sold. The claims company still took it to the FOS and the mortgage adviser had to pay £500.

So, whilst at this stage it would be wrong to accuse the OP of a try-it-on, it does help to understand why "vague" posts which hint of a fishing expedition to see if there is some compo due will be frowned on by some.
I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.

Totally agree with you, but perhaps I am just a bit trusting? I get the impression the OP is desperate and genuinely does not know if they were mis-sold, whilst I doubt it, without knowing the full facts we can't comment either way.
    I am a mortgage adviser.

Sorry to nitpick, but I think this is an important distinction. Whilst many of the posters on here are authorised to give advice (I'm not), the boards themselves are not for advice.

Observations and comments, sure - but if the OP wants advice, he should find somebody with professional indemnity insurance and pay for it.

    Then being nitpicky. ;)

My error. Should have said advice!

As its advise that has the incorrect context
