joint mortgage help!

hey
i bought a house with my boyfriend who is no longer.we split on good terms and he let me keep the house. basically, at some point this year he is thinking about getting a mortgage of his own and therefore will need his name off our joint one.
would it involve me getting a new mortgage or would it be possible to just take his name off? the payments have been going out of my own account and i have never missed a payment.
help would be really appreciated

you need to ask your mortgage provider but they often treat the transfer as a new mortgage so you would need to meet their loan to value and affordability criteria0
