Claiming tax from being abroad

Afternoon,
I was abroad from almost 7 months of 2011, serving with HMS Ocean in the med and further south. I came home for a 2 week period in between for a break, so I understand I wont be able to claim anything for that month, but I am just wondering if anyone know about claiming tax back from being away.
I was maybe thinking of things like my phone bill, as one month is was £500, and 20% being tax, I would happily claim in back.
Anyone have any idea?
I'm not a home owner, or I dont have car so tax that way I wont be able to claim.
