Ppi And Firstplus

Hi guys :hello:
DH and I took a loan out with Firstplus in 2004 for £41,000.On our credit agreement it says "Optional payment protection premium £8,171."
Now, my question is this : do we continue as we are and if we don't make a claim we will get £5,000 back in 2009, or do I cancel the ppi now? How much, if any, will we be worse off and how do I write my letter? Just tell them I want to cancel the ppi?
Any advice greatly appreciated
DMP starts June 2012, £38,180.

  • u might want to contact firstplus and see how much your partial repayment would be
then look at the interest you will be paying on the ppi if you stay, they dont make it easy to work out tho!!!!

make a comparison between the 2.

sorry i couldnt help more, all i know is that you will have paid a whole heap of interest on that 8000 but after 5 yrs will only recieve the original 8000
