Freezing Christmas cake?

I made my own Christmas cake, which cost a small fortune, from a recipe out of Prima. It's a really lovely cake, very moist, but I still have half of it left. Is it possible to freeze it? If so, do I need to take the icing etc off first?
Thanks.
Thanks.

It will last in a tin for ages, no need to freeze, we are still eating last years cake and it is as good (if not better) as it was last year. Freezing also runs the risk of breaking up your cake into crumbs.0

We don't ice ours I much prefer a slab of Wensleydale cheese with mine, but one made by my mother lasted a year with Royal icing and marzipan holding up quite well.0 -
We've still got half of ours as well. It'll keep for ages and ages. Ours is on the kitchen worktop with bit of foil sort of placed over the top.
They can be expensive to make, but it does make a really really big cake which does last so its money well spent in the end.0 -
It will keep quite fine at room temperature.Loving the sunny days!0
