Long story but saw a dental consultant today who has decided after x-raying that I need 2 teeth out, not just the one my dentist originally thought!!! Though my dentist had said he thought the other tooth might need removing eventually.

The consultant asked me if my top lip had felt numb after the loca anaesthetic and I told him it hadn't though the rest of my mouth had felt numb.
He told his students that is a sign the anaesthetic won't be effective, or words to that effect. I feel greatly re-assured after seeing him. They will be removing the teeth for me, though going to wait until I finsh my antibiotics as my gums still inflamed.
