I want a Humidifier

The central heating has suceeded in drying the house to well under 40% and we are all getting dry throats.
Has anyone bought a humidifier that they would recommend?
Bowls of water on the radiators don't improve matters.

That gum you like is coming back in style.

More pot plants would help, although if you get 'Pot' plants you won't have to worry about the central heating. :rotfl:My Mind wanders, if found please return.0

Surprised CH has dried it out - you're likely to be "humidifying" just by breathing, never mind cooking, washing, boiling kettles etc.
Wet towels on the rads will work better than bowls of water.0 -
When we first got CH I couldn't have it on it dried the air out so much. Got a Bionaire humidifier from argos that did the job. Also got the mini one for the bedroom.Sigless0

I searched high and low for a humidifier a few years ago, and the only place I found one was Argos. However, I was able to pick it up and take it home the same day.
If you don't have or can't find a humidifier, then wet towels over the radiator are the next best thing. The advantage of a humidifier is that they don't dry out as quickly as a wet towel over the radiator.
However, be careful about condensation on the ceiling - it's a bad idea to run a humidifier in a room which is very small, or where it matters if it gets very wet - for example, a room with lots of computers in it. To avoid ceiling condensation, it's best to run the humidifier on the floor, and don't put it on a shelf or a table. And don't put more water in it than is really necessary.
