STAY AT HOME MUMS - Naptime challenge

Hi all,
Firstly let me introduce myself. I'm Leanda, 28 on Sunday (eek! where have my 20s gone??!!) and mother to a 13 week old girl.
I am in the fortunate position to weigh less now than I did pre-pregnancy however there's still plenty to come off that's not baby related! I lost 1.5 stone in January 2011 before I found out I was pregnant so last year the focus shifted somewhat from weightloss to getting through pregnancy and producing a healthy baby.
I am setting myself a daily NAPTIME CHALLENGE and I hope some of you will also join in, not only to support me but to help yourselves too.
The idea is that I will pledge to do one form of continuous exercise during one of baby's naps each day (she generally naps for around 45 minutes a time). In addition to this I will pledge to get certain household tasks done in another nap so that my home no longer looks like a bomb has hit it!
I have a bundle of exercise DVDs that I can plough through for variety, and a long walk in the local park is possible on days when the weather is nice, but any other suggestions would be appreciated.
So TODAY - I pledge that my exercise naptime challenge will be to do a Davina 30 minute workout. I also pledge that my housework naptime challenge will be to get the dusting and hoovering done

Hiya.
Did you do your Davina workout??? My new year resolution was to do ten minutes a day of pilates or yoga during nap time. Several reasons, obviously to tone up and get some strength, and also to help my back as tummy muscles are so weak and baby now 16 weeks and heavy to lift. Don't want to end up with a bad back. DD is back to school tomorrow so will start then :-)First Baby born January 2007

Good for you, I hope you can manage to fit your exercises in. Your baby isn't much older than mine, even if noone else joins the thread I think we can gee each other along.
I did my Davina - and it practically killed me! However, I can honestly say I felt fabulous after I'd done it (did 30 mins box cardio)
No exercise tomorrow as I have a million and one other things to do and places to be, but will endeavour to get another workout or long walk done on Friday.
Also managed the dusting, but not the hoovering as the washing hadn't dried and I didn't fancy dragging the dryer across the living room. Will add the hoovering to tomorrow's targets.
So, tomorrow I will :
Do the ironing
Do the hoovering
No exercise but will log my food on mfp and stick to meal plan0 -
Well done Leanda! 30 minutes is good going this side of pregnancy. Think this thread is a good idea. Maybe you could put a link to it as it took me a few minutes to find :-) Daniel takes decent naps now so I can finally do more than just a few chores. So great idea to pledge fitness stuff.
I did end up doing a few pilates exercises, and a bit horrified by just how non existent my tummy muscles are. So will pledge to do 15 minutes of pilates today. TBH, usuallyonce I actually start something I will get properly stuck in. It just the starting. I used to keep repeating the Nike slogan to myself. "Just DO it!"
School run starts today and if weather is dry, I will do the hilly detour with the pram. Is about a 20 minutes walk. Depending when the bottle is due I might go further :-)First Baby born January 2007

Did the 15 mins pilates. It was hard!!! I couldn't remember many exercises, and found some impossible to do - the dreaded plank, for eg. Will have to surf the web and find an exercise plan. Did help loosen my back a little and reminded me to hold my tummy in for part of the day. Also did some lunges and squats holding Daniel. I feel like such a weakling!
Got baby swimming lessons tomorrow morning. Will pledge to do another 15 mins of pilates and also to develop a basic plan of exercises.First Baby born January 2007
