Does anyone make their own taramasalata? I have just found a recipe in an old book that uses a can of smoked cod roe....i have looked on line and i can only find a tin of 200g or 600g of 'pressed' soft cod roe. I wondered if this is the same thing?
Also if this makes too much i can't see any reason why i can't freeze some for another time?
Would love to hear from anyone that makes it...how do you do it & is it nicer and cheaper to make than the ready bought taramasalata?
Thanks for any help on this

Hi Kippers,
I would have used the tin as you say above, it sounds near enough the same to me.
I would think you could freeze the remainder as well, depending on what else is in the receipe, of course.
As to whether its nicer, can only base that on the fact that most HM things are nicer. But as for this particular item, I've tried it once and its one of the few things that I find rank!!!0 -
