Financial Apps

Can anybody recommend or offer an opinion on any of the financial apps? I have an iphone and would like something to help me track my spending so that I can use it to do an end of year analysis and use it for future budgets.

My Weekly Budget is 69p and has 5 stars but I wondered if anyone had used it?

I also have a debt management plan so something that also allowed me to track debt repayments and help to piggy bank savings would be a real incentive...

  • I use expenses book. Also 69p. It is much more than I need, and am getting used to it (had it 3 days). There are alot of options to track spending against your budget for each item on your list, so could easily have a savings section.

There is a graph towards your final monthly total to chart your progress. as well as a variety of tables!

I use one called Accounts, which I think was 69p - you can use this for multiple accounts. I also use one called Balance which was free.

    Both are pretty good.
  • Ooh never thought about doing that! Anyone know of any available on android?

hiya i use my weekly budget and it is brilliant.
I use it every week, and have a recent budget in place.
It tells you how many days you have left until your budget is renewed, sorts it out into categories eg, groceries, petrol, and you can make up new categories if yours isnt on there, like one for Diet coke haha , which is my weakness x

I use HomeBudget on iphone, they have a lite version as well. Lets me set up my bank accounts, bills, budgets, payees and also gives forecasts and reports on areas of spending. I like to customise it exactly for me but it comes with a base setup if you don't want to do it yourself. Once set up all i need to do is record my spends and any unplanned income. Have been using it for a year and do still try out new apps but have found this to be the best. Think it was a couple of pounds but best money i ever spent and has a quick entry spending diary type thingy iykwim. Can you tell i love it? :)

Best things for me is that i can see how much is in my accounts and how much is in each bit of budget (food/clothes/going out etc) at a glance.
  • hi there, i have just come across a website called lovemoney.com wwhich looks really good at analysing your budget and household expenses etc., and automatically looks at your bank accounts and splits your expenses into categories to show what you are spending versus your budget. does anyone have any experience of this? Have spent an hour or so loading in bank accounts, except santander account having trouble loading my account details for some reason - not accepting them????
I too need to concentrate on what i am spending, need to up my income too.

Thanks that is really helpful. I am liking weekly budget but not sure if it is the best one for me as my budget is monthly. Doh! Think it would be useful if you were paid weekly or just as a spending diary... Will have a look at some of the others recommended on here and let you know how I get on.

Definitely reckon MSE should produce an app!

  • Hiya
    I use THIS app.
I have been using it for a year and a half and it has been the best money I have spent on an app. I use it daily and it is really easy to use.
