The shots are only free on there own if you 'buy' them is quanties of 6.. Otherwise you have to get vitamins aswell..
Better todo 6 vitamins and 6 x shots as that will give you the greater profit.
see my post below for the maths

Yipee!! I'm so happy!:j
After two unsuccessful attempts at Peterlee and Seaham yesterday, I went to the Metrocentre branch today and it worked!:T
I got:
3 vitamin C (79p each)
3 multivitamins (79p each)
2 Garlic capsules (1.59 each)
2 kids chewable vitamins (2.05 each)
1 general health A-Z vitamins (2.39 each)
1 Cod liver oil capsules (99p each)
12 vitamin shots
plus, 3 essential cucumber wipes (3 for £3)
Radox Brazilian shower therapy (1/2 price plus used voucher for 25% off)
colgate whitening toothpaste (1/2 price)
and a vaseline spray deodorant (1/2 price plus voucher for 25% off) then used a voucher for £2.50 off a £30 spend...
got the lot for a grand total of £1.46:beer:
p.s. 25% vouchers for shower gel and deodorant took 25% off total not off the half price offer so even better!0 -
If your store has shots in stock but no cheapy vitamins, then the Ricola sweets work on this and the orange and lemon ones are actually quite nice (for some reason did not get the Swiss Herb flavour ones!)
6 shots and 6 packs of sweets gives you £2.8x (think it is £2.87 but the receipt is confusing to say the least) off the rest of your shopping.
In my store, the sweets were on a huge stand with other items saying "reduced to £1" (they were reduced from £1.45, so when you buy three, Boots in their logic give you the .45p discount off the free one in the 3 for 2, so you "pay" £1.55 for 3 packs).0 -
I think they are on to us - in some stores anyway. I tried with 3 shots and 3 cheap vitamins and the shots wouldn't go through. The assistant then just 'helpfully' popped them in my bag and went on to charge me for the rest of my stuff. Pants!0

Ask them to scan them through the till next time. If they do not show on the receipt you have no proof of purchase. What would happen if you had a problem with one and had to return it iyswimAvatar courtesey of HC :beer:0 -
Sorry - should have said that the SA tried to scan them but they just 'beeped'. He called over a supervisor who gave me a look and told him to put them straight in the bag. They weren't scanning and I wondered if Boots had got wise to the glitch.0

Thank you for that, got the last 3 shots in my local today together with the sweets. I actually like the shots, they taste nice. (Shame you're only supposed to have one a day. :P ) Finally found something to use one of my 5 off No7 coupon - a hair protecting spray (for sun exposure). 6 pounds a bottle became 1 with the voucher, and the glitch took something off as well. Probably wouldn't have bought the spray ever if it wasn't for the voucher, so I beleive Boots still wins this time. Just a bit.GC September 2012 - £49.04/£80 |GC October 2012 - £50.28/£80 |GC November £63.59/£60 (one adult only)0 -

went to another Boots this afternoon and tried 12 shots + 12 Ricolas?(1gbp each as it's also on 'herbal' products) but got trouted!
the young male(!!) SA questioned the amount(my fault really as I miscalculated) and started asking lots of SAs/managers etc. and one manager came over and said I can only have one free shot for each 3 Ricolas! And she insisted it's what the offer says! LOL left them to it and will try a different one tomorrow
however any suggestions what to do with looaaads of spare vitamins will be very welcome
Thanks for that Czerniacha ,never heard if Ricolas before, but eating one now as I type and quite nice they are too! They were priced 1.45 in my local store but scanned at a pound and I think it took another 45p off shopping too lol. :T :T
Might get one more lot tomorrow then time to stop as OH moaning about all the shots toppling over in the cupboard!0 -
wish i lived near a boots with a ss!
Need glucosmaine too
NM well done everyone!!..(/(/

Well it would have been rude not to get another 9 today! Found 6 on the shelf so 6 cod liver oil plus 2 x 4pk of Huggies and the bill was just over £5 (should have been £8 alone for the wipes). Got a No7 voucher so having spotted 4 more shots at the till, I availed of 3, got 3 multivitamins, pack of No7 wipes and less than £2 to pay. The SA looked puzzled when she totalled the 1st transaction but thankfully seemed to think I'd just done very well saving around £25
Will try again tomorrow as this is getting me wipes at under 1p each which is my target glitch price. So unless anyone else knows better, I think the 2 for £8 offer on the 4pks is the way to go.0
