If all you need is love why am I in debt!

Hi all
Have been reading some diaries and finding them so motivational I feel I should start my own.. So here goes

Currently pregnant with bubba number 3 and I have 11 weeks till I'm due!!! I owe about £1500 on my HSBC credit card and £800 on my ASDA credit card. I know it's not alot compared to other people but it is really getting me down now. Oh has just set up his own business but at the moment is so stressed and narky I don't know what the future holds for us as I feel he is putting added stress on me which I don't deserve or need at the moment, he can be very nasty with words at times!!
Anyway enough of the woe is me talk, whatever way my life goes I need this debt paid off ASAP so I can relax again. I currently get £1200 paid into my bank account each month and this has to pay our rent, council tax and all our bills. I will do an soa first thing tomorrow abd get the exact figures I owe (my statements are upstairs where oh is currently sulking in bed again!!)

If me and oh work things out he has a load more debt I need to clear too but if not he can do it on his own and sod off!!
I won't be able to pay loads off my debts like others but I'm hoping this diary can stop me from spending on rubbish we don't need and knuckle down!!
Yay here goes....... :D

Started a diary then forgot my log in details!! Stupid baby brain!!
Anyway me and oh have managed to sort things out and he has apologised for acting the way he has lately.
Now onto the debt side of things!! Just paid
    £2.63 to catalogue
    £20 to asda credit card
    £73.00 to hsbc credit card

    Balances stand at
Asda : £? (need to find statement!!)
    Hsbc : £1866.23
    Catalogue : £10.63

The credit card balances are before I made my payments today.

Looking at clearing my asda debt first as I know it is less then my hsbc card, I'm sure it's around the £750 mark.
Should have enough money to cover the rest of the month but will probably go into my overdraft.
Need to pick up a parcel today from the post office abd buy a new flask for ds1 but apart from that not planning on spending anything else!!

    Afternoon diary
Forgot to get ds1 a flask but did remember to go to post office so I'm not completely useless!! Decided I'm going to try and save for my car insurance which is up for renewal in June. Would like to pay it all off in one go but oh had a crash (not bad) and I know my premiums will go up but not sure by how much. I have 6 months to save as much as I can!!!

  • Hello Sammie

Well done starting a diary. It can be a great way of focussing the mind towards your goal. Have you posted and SOA anywhere yet? You might be surprised seeing where you can make savings and put extra funds towards clearing debts quicker.

Glad that you and your OH have sorted thing out. I hope his new business does really well for you both and good luck with No 3 :)

Thanks for posting little bit dizzy. X

I will get on and do an soa as soon as I can find my statement from asda as I don't know final balance etc.
Need to get some gas today so that will be £10, also very quickly running low on food now!! I have held out as long as I can I think and it's been nearly 2 weeks since I went shopping!! Might pop to lidls and see what they have on offer as it's only 5 mins down the road so will save on petrol. Feel like I could go back to bed now I have dropped the boys off to school!!

Spent £25.30 at lidl so pleased with that. Still need to get gas but will do that when I pick up the boys from school. Most of my direct debits come out at the beginning of the month so I think the only big direct debit left for this month is my car insurance. Oh need to pay £20 for ds1 school trip by 31st march so will hopefully pay that when oh gets paid next. Not going out now till I got to puck boys up and I've done all the cleaning so might grab a nap!! Need to sort out large cupboard in my kitchen this week as it's full of rubbish but might just start that tomorrow.

Went to asda today to get some pull ups and spent £19.50 on 2x packs of pull ups, fabric softener, blanket for baby and muslin cloths for baby. Oh gave me £20 so I didn't have to use my debit card which is good. Ds1 has swimming tonight so need to make a drink and snack for ds2 to take so I don't have to buy anything from the cafe therefor saving money!! :D

Going to come home and do nothing as oh is working late so I have the evening to myself!! I think I will get my pj's on and watch one born every minute!!

Oh forgot, I applied for my passport renewal today so that will be another £70 odd to pay out next week!! it's never ending!!

Spent £3.26 yesterday on gaviscon tablets.

Need to pay the rent today so will do that this morning, running out of food for meals again so may have to pop to shops and stock up on a few bits.
Apart from that just need to check bank account.
