Cheap Make up

If anyone is wanting to save money but still buy makeup and look their best then there are 2 websites which sell great makeup.

http://www.eyeslipsface.co.uk

They do their own makeup but it is super cheap and really good and a lot of Americans use it.

http://www.cosmetic-kingdom.co.uk

They have great genuine branded makeup for super cheap, they sell tester eyeshadows too for less than £1 in most cases and they are the regular sized eyeshadows just in tester form which have never been used. They also sell Bourjois liner effect mascara in brown or blue for 99p! Worth having a look xx

Seeing as Mac is one of the cult brands to be faked, has anyone any knowlegde about the above store and if the items are genuine? Mac don't tend to sell to anyone at a very big discount at all but know the fakes are 2 a penny on Ebay.

I know that the cheaper items including the bourjois, wet n wild, collection 2000 and maybeline items are genuine however I am getting a mac blusher from cosmetic-kingdom within the next couple of days (already been packed etc) so I will let you know if it is genuine or not but I am pretty sure it will be.....hopefully xx
  • As regards to your comment jenniewb, I posted this question on their Facebook page. This is what they said to me:

"All our items are genuine items, and are sold in wholesale cheaply. We are wholesalers more than retailers. Please also note it is highly illegal to sell copy products. I do not understand why anyone would think a registered Limited company would not be selling authentic products."

I will be hopefully getting my parcel tomorrow if not friday and will inform you of the MAC products authenticity when I get it.

    Thanks

    Zara xx

I'd not believe a word the seller says over the Mac store assistants themselves. I doubt a store is going to say "oh we only sell fakes". I doubt Mac sell at low prices to anyone, even wholesale.
  • From the MAC website:

"While we appreciate your interest in M·A·C products, please be advised that our products are distributed for sale only at our authorised retail store accounts, the majority of which are located in major department stores or international perfumeries. While there are other points of sale, we are not seeking to expand our distribution network at this time. We do not offer franchises."

This site has quite a lot of advice on how to tell if a MAC product is fake.

From doing a little googling it looks like they could be selling real MAC products, but quite outdated ones not purchased from MAC but a wholesalers.

This one appears to be from 2007, and is not currently sold on the website. Neither is the MAC Single Eyeshadow in the shades Cumulus, Moonflower, Bang on Blue or Cool Heat.

The superglass lipgloss is all from last year, and is not currently sold on the website.

I think it would depend on a review from someone who could guarantee they weren't selling fakes and how old the products actually are to convince me to buy from them.

I notice they're selling Boots Botanics eyeshadows on there - that range was discontinued in 2004. I'd be a little bit wary - it's not a saving if the products are so old that they do nasty things to your skin!

I generally prefer not use cheap make-up. It may cause allergy to you skin.

  • a shop called ' DiscountsUK' has opened near us. they have what must be end of range from Maybelline, Rimmel , sally hansen, Bourjois etc for £1. Worth casting an eye over every now and again as sometimes some nice bits turn up.
