CV and JOBCENTRE

I need some copies of my CV printing off so i can go cold calling companies for jobs, Not owning a printer and copies from the library or anywhere else beyond my finance, could i get some copies done by the jobcentre.

You could try. Does your job centre have a Next Step advisor? They give CV advise and might be able to print it for you.

Whenever I've applied for a job, I emailed my CV. Couldn't you do that?

When I was out of work, I asked this same question and I was told that my Job Centre didn't have the facilities for printing anything, even if directly related to finding a job and that I should try my local library.

I was never able to get them to print CVs off, because they wouldn't accept anything on a USB stick. However, the nicer advisors would happily photocopy any CVs and documents like references for me.

There were a couple of places I went to for extra help whilst I was signing on.

• Connexions provided excellent help with CVs and printing stuff for free. I think that is only available for up to 21yrs though.
• A company that I think was called Ingeus? They were contracted by the Job Centre to help people and you could drop in at any time. The way to access that was to ask about the workshops the Centre ran.
• Remploy - I'm deaf so they sent me to remploy, which was the best thing that happened to me. Your own lovely advisor and warm headquarters with free tea, PCs and printers. It made job searching very easy compared to using the Job Centre.

Thanks for your replies guys, I have been to the jobcentre and they have done me 10 copies...I do email most of the time but i have a mad idea of going cold calling a few local employers to give them my CV.
