    1. To pare spending down to the absolute minimum (I don't actually NEED anything) and save as much as possible while still enjoying myself.
    2. To lose 1.5 stone by July.
    3. To use up all the stuff I have (toiletries especially) rather than buying new.
    4. To check my online banking every day.
    5. To declutter the house - I have already started! - and sell anything I can on eBay.
    6. To keep on top of the housework.
    7. To get married! :D

  • My New Years Resolution is to follow the mantra NEED NOT WANT. I'm going to apply this to every aspect of my life... eating and spending mainly.

More specifically, this year I want:

    -to lose weight
    -to pass my driving test
-to pass my first year with no less than a 2.1
-pay off as much debt as possible
    -fall pregnant!
2014: My hardest financial times ever as I complete my degree, and begin a Masters in September. I can do this!

  • Sorry to be a total newbie and asking a probably obvious question... but when I go to my own profile and click on my last posts, this thread doesn't show up; is there any reason for that?

it might be cache'd, have you tried refreshing it?
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J
  • My plan is to clear my credit card this year, if i get the job I applied for then it won't be as hard as it will be otherwise.
    Budget more rigidly.
Keep up with the challenges I have enrolled in (no buying toiletries, decluttering etc etc) to use uyp what I already have.
Meal plan more rigidly to save less wastage and therefore save more money.

Biggest one for me at the moment is to be as money neutral as possible!
    Credit Card: £796 Left/£900 October 2011
    Store Card: £100 October 2011 :o
Declutter 100 Things In January 100/100:j:beer:
    No Buying Toiletries 2012
  • Mine is to make better choices and start keeping track of my finances. So have cut out takeaways and downloaded this MyMoneyTracker Lite from the app store, i'm hoping it will make my finances easier to control.

Anything you guys have found useful?
  • Just like KCole I am not going to buy any clothes, except underwear, this year, I am not going to make any either.
I will not buy any magazines or local newspapers, just 1 national paper a week on Saturday. Can't believe just not buying the thin and useless local paper each week will save over £25 a year and not buying a magazine each month a further £40+, they will not be missed at all and my recycling bin will be lighter!
We will have packed lunches on working days.
I will only fill my car with petrol once a month.
    I will cook more creatively.
Mmm, think that is enough promises to myself for now!

If I have to buy new clothes, I'll try charity shops first.
My vegetable patch will be used more effectively to grow things which are expensive to buy & which can be frozen for use later.
I'll try to more effective in the use of home gas & electricity.
Borrowing books from the library rather than buying & cluttering up the house with them.
