Full refund if you have a receipt -I think it goes to exchange only when it goes onto the Blue Cross Sale (70%)

If you don't have a receipt, but you are pleasant to the staff, you may be able to still get an exchange. If you have other proof of purchase you may still get a refund.

    Good luck

They won't give a refund on anything 50% or over, its exchange only unless you paid with a debenhams card (they will refund if paid this way).

if its 50% or more reduced, they will only offer exchange if it hasnt been paid by a Debenhams card. If paid by Debenhams card, they will offer full refund no matter how discounted the item

I will never shop at Debenhams again. What has happened to consumer rights? (whats the legality of their 'non displayed terms at point of sale' policy??)

Debenhams dont state (in writing) (nothing thats clearly visible anyway) their refunds policy at the till point, neither do their staff tell you their refunds/ exchanges policy before you buy anything.

At least with SportsDirect stores, their staff tell you just before they scan the item.

The refund policy is stated on the back of the receipt and is usually displayed at the till point. Do you expect the assistant to tell EVERY customer the refund policy before each transaction?

I think they should tell customers its over xx% you can only have an exchange no refund , they talk to every customer anyway cant see a problem , as when you have the receipt its too late purchase has been made :)

You don't have a RIGHT to a refund unless an item is faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose (unless you bought online).

Debenhams will refund you if it is in one of those conditions.

There is NO requirement for them to display a refund policy as they put it on the receipt and they are complying with their legal obligations.

In any case, in every Debenhams I've been to, the Refund Policy is on display at the tills and the staff make a point of telling you when they scan an item reduced by 50% or more anyway.

I've always been told it's no refund over 50% when I've purchased anything, and in the local stores to me, the terms are very clear by the tills.
