self assessment rental income question.

in Cutting tax
House is owned jointly. Last year only husband had to do SA, put whole amount of income/expenses on his form (was nothing to pay). This year I have to do SA as well as have now got an income from self employment.
Q When filling in the two forms do I just divide the figures in half and put half on each form?
Q Do i go back and amend my husbands form from last year? Is it worth bothering? Will it flag something up that I have suddenly halved the figures?
There is no tax to pay for either of us because I have earned under the threshold and the profit is only about £2k in total and 1k won't take me over it. MY husband pays tax in Norway (UK citizen) but still gets his personal allowance so this 1k won't make any difference to him either.
Thanks for your help.

This is slightly confusing, because you have introduced the information that your husband has some sort of foreign tax paying status in Norway.
Presumably he gets double taxation relief here in the UK for his Norwegian income?
Anyway back to the property income - there is a little box on the self assessment forms; it asks if you share the rental income with other people.
What did hubby put in there?
[I don't actually know what it does, when completed].0 -
Thanks John, yes we get double taxation relief. Did not spot the box last year, will go and have a look for it.0
