Views on car leasing??

I'm also interested in views, I'm thinking about doing it for the first time. My main concern is finding a reputable company and in particular those that don't try to rip you off at the end of the deal.
There is a dizzying array of companies and finding ones that are honest and straightforward feels like a bit of a punt.
I've been talking recently to Nationwide Vehicle Contracts and it's pretty hard to avoid Lings Cars when you do a Google...0 -
I've just (car delivered tomorrow) entered into my first agreement with Lings Cars (lingscars.com) and although I've yet to get the car, the customer service is fantastic!0

I saw this offer which although over a 3 year period seems like fair game to me :-)
Not that I am encouraging anybody to get into debt but if I wanted a brand new car with hardly any hassle I would seriously look into this..

I have a car on a PCP and pay £149 per month, have had 3 other cars on PCP too, i just hand them back after 3 years and get another. No hassle, have never been charged for excess mileage or damage.0

We thought that too but then we ended up with the wrong colour car and still don't have a copy of the full T&Cs with regard to the condition the car must be returned in etc.I've just (car delivered tomorrow) entered into my first agreement with Lings Cars (lingscars.com) and although I've yet to get the car, the customer service is fantastic!0 -
It doesn't have to an "either or" between "old banger with reliability issues" and "brand new car on a lease" though, does it?
You see quite decent used cars that are 3 or 4 years old, lowish mileage, service history etc, often sold with warranties, for a few grand from reputable dealers.
And you don't have to worry about being overcharged for silly little stuff at the end.
Depends how important driving around in a new car is to you, I suppose....0 -

It's not about thinking you've bought a banger, though, it's about being able to budget.
I had a 5 year old astra that needed something like 2k of work. Cars don't have to be old to start needing costly repairs.
As soon as the dealer's warranty (1 year?) had expired, you'd be on your own. With leasing, you're never out of warranty, so you feel you've a safety net if something goes wrong.0 -
I'm 1/2 way through my 2nd agreement with Ling, smooth as clockwork.0

Well we went for it after our old car dramatically packed in! Now driving round in a brand new Merc from Lingscars.com for £214 per month on a 2 year deal. Had a problem with delivery times and Ling did a great job of helping, we had a free hire car for 2 weeks whilst we waited for the new car so no complaints here!0

I have a lease car but through a salary sacrifice scheme and it works brilliantly for me. I have £251 taken from my gross salary each money but when I consider how much it reduces my tax, National Insurance and Student loan contributions means it works out at about £150 a month that I'm paying. Would cost me more each month on insurance, servicing etc.0
