Red Lentils Bargain

I bought a 2kg bag of red lentils in Mr T today for £1.99. Sorry, I can't remember the original price. They are in the world foods section. I thought this was a real bargain and as it is a popular MSE item, I hope this is useful to somebody.:D

Use the thanks button often, Morro, it helps other posters know they are on track and shows a little appreciation of their research.
And if you thank anyone in the thread always thank the Original Poster as well.

Can these be used in soups without soaking first?
Thank-you to everyone who posts comps
  • We got a big bag for the same price from an international food store near us. If you live near one they are great for cheap pulses and spices etc you can usually get spices for example much cheaper that in the general supermarket as you are not paying for the little glass jars and such.

Yes you can cook red lentils without pre-soaking, just skim the scum bit off the top off your soup when they are cooking.
