I found 6p! There's a good thread on here with the idea of saving £1 a day in a jar and by Cheistmas we'd have over £350 :)

My sofa is usually home to several pens, hair clips and bobbles, and the tv buttons. But not usually any cash.

When we were first married and completely skint, the middle of the week necessitated a search down the sides of our very old squashy armchairs which would usually get us £2 or £3 - and that was a lifesaver back then!
(needless to say I'm assuming the money came from vistors, because we never had any in our pockets LOL!)
I also found £3 down the side of a big leather sofa in a pub once! Trouble is you get food crumbs up your fingernails - ugh!

  • when we moved into our first home it was furnished with the previous occupants belongings. (no longer wanted as gone into a home) well we didnt want the furniture so we gave the sofa away ( for free ) i said as it went out the door, if you find any money in it i want it back, ha ha ha. well on cleaning the sofa the new owner found a handbag with £400 in it stuffed up the back! they brought it round for us, we contacted the owners solicitors to find out the old lady had died with no relatives and they told us to keep it as we owned everything int he house any way. it was so sad that we couldnt return it but it did come in handy!

My stepbrother (age about 9) found £37 last time we went on holiday by going around the seats in the bar if the hotel each day and feeling down the sides of the chairs.
And in terms of finding money- under the machines at games arcades are excellent places. Although I think I've grown out of being able to do that and not look weird... if you have a child send them to look!
  • Hi all, I've only found 10p :j
  • Just checked..... a hairband, sweet wrapper and some crumbs !!
