Hi looking for some advice on the Blackberry Playbook. Any good? Thinking of buying one. I have read various reviews on the internet but thought I would also ask you good people on here!
I am thinking of web browsing in front of the pc really, social networking etc as an alternative to using the laptop while watching tv!
Can Skype work on the Blackberry Playbook?
Any advice gratefully accepted?

I totally love mine.
The fact I have internet coverage everywhere and I am not relying on wifi zones is a huge bonus to me.
You can 'bridge' your Blackberry and use the tablet as a larger version for emIl/bbm etc
I love you have forward and reverse cameras.
I also like you can have your email on a tab, several applications and several web pages too and scan skip between them easily.
Having flash is good as i like watching embedded videos in skynews etc.
I can't fault it,it has many apps you can download, just select the free ones if you dont want to pay, however I use mine more as a computer tban games machine.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
Looks a nice bit of kit. New update coming in Feb, for £169 its not bad (was 10% via quidco the other day too, making it £150), should have been sub £200 when launched, but thats greed for you.
The HTC Flyer which was available recently for £179 would have been the best bet, think its settled at £200 now, so still not a bad price.
Theres a skype beta somewhere which works I'm told.
It can do some android apps via some sort of emulation, but its not what you'd expect though.0 -
Does free of charge virus protection work on the Blackberry Playbook like Avast? Thanks.0

You can use Blackberry email or BBM unless you have a Blackberry phone :-O0

no, but it doesn't need it as there are no viruses for it (like the iPad) nor can it really get any esp. just by surfing the web, but you can still fall to phishing attacks so watch where you type your details.
for the playbook, it is excellent for web browsing, it has flash so you won't come to any roadblocks in that department0 -
I would avoid and simply plump for an Ipad2 or 3 when it comes out. I think the Playbook failed so not worth doing. I would rather own a 3G Blackberry than get the Playbook.#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

All Smartphone and Tablet makers are following Apple's lead anyway so you might as well go for gold and when there are Tablets with proper number of apps ie Apples numbers and qaulity then look for alternative models.#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.
