How I menu plan with cookery books.

I have finished (I know slow...) indexing Delia smith's complete cookery course. I guess I could email the file to anyone who owns the book and would like to see it indexed my way.
I think some sections have needed to be sub divided.....I had fish, egg, vegetarian as friday and needed to make a three part table. Some other sections will need splitting when I have added other books.
I'm just about to start adding "I know how to cook"
I'm shocked at how useable my delia book is now. I have recipes I didn't know I had. Once I've added all my books I will have recipes for every occassion and sometimes variations of similar dishes.
I've just been delighted to discover today I have recipes for crispy fried seawed, rosehip jelly, elderflower jelly, pork scratchings etc.
I do believe that I would never have need of store brought things again (except of course cheese, sausages etc lol)
I'm adding a page for info references now. All of my books have pages of tips or conversion charts or sugar temp charts etc.
eg....
menu ideas, p...such a book...
jam advice, p....
It's not just me, I bet anyone with more than a few books will find them so much more useful when you put the recipes in categories that are useful to them. No need to ask if and where you have a recipe for something on sale.....
yes this is time consuming...but helpful. I don't mind sharing what I've filled in. But my sections may not be what you would use.0 -
I would be really interested in seeing what you've filled in, I've made weekly menu plans before, but somehow we seem to resort to the same things after a while! And I love variety!0

PM me an email addy and I'll send it as an attachment. It's 10 pages long. I understand people are worried about virus' etc so I won't be offended if you choose not to.:)
(Oh and I added loads of sauces from I know how to cook without thinking about saving seperately-so you'll want to delete them if you don't have the book lol.)0 -
Has anyone done one on a spreadsheet format on the computer?0

Great idea, pm sent0

I can't work spreadsheets out lol.
Just to say to people requesting ...there are no recipes on the file.
It's just a re-organised index of Delia's Complete cookery course-classic edition 2010, isbn, 978-0-563-36286-9
and now some of "I know how to cook". useful if you own them or just to give an idea of what I'm doing.
I definately need to reorganise or divide some sections.0
