New year, new start

So my previous thread had not quite gone to plan, i have tended to forget about them quite early on in the year so i am going to make it my new years resolution to keep up to date with this thread and try to update it daily.

So a little bit about me, i am a nurse and live with my partner who unfortulatly is unable to work through illness but does get £200 a month carers allowance as we look after my nan who now requires 24 hour care due her dementia and other illnesses so we live with her and pay rent towards bills so she can stay at home for as long as possible.

I have a loan whichwe took out to try to pay off my oh's credit cards from before we were together, i have about 20 months left to pay this off as it is monthly installments though if i am able to save enough off i would like to pay this off early. I have a credit card with about £2,500 on it which i would like to get paid off in the next couple of months hopefully and my OH has a credit card with about £1,000 on it. Hopefully they will all get paid off soon.

My aims for this year is to make/save £12,000 in 2012 which will pay off the debts and go into my savings. This will be done by joining other challenges that i will update on the next post and i also want to lose weight. I have gym membership and a bike but due to illness have have not been able to use them regularly. My aim is to get duen to the gym (or if i cant on the wii) at least 3 times a weeks and when the weather is better i will try to cycle to work - this will save on my bus fare and improve my fitness and t will mean that i can get home quicker in the evenings as the buses are not very good.

Well a good start to the diary -not! As i was late out of work last night I forgot to update my diary. Well on the 1st I got a refund of £5 amazon voucher and £30 vouchers from shop and scan so currently have. £35 in amazon vouchers to spend. Am up to 459 points on swagbucks. Will try to get up to 600 today and then only a day or two away from claiming another voucher ( already have one pending). I will try to complete some surveys today and enter some competitions to start earning some money as well as vouchers. And I have a study day and a long day next week booked as bank but I won't get that paid til the following wages.

In terms of my weight I will aim to lose 80lbs by the end of the year and I will weigh myself every week. Have not been to the gym yet as it was closed and have been working but will try to get there soon to start the exercise.

Thanks CTC, i will head off and have a look at your diary too, as a little update have requested another £5 sb voucher so am now waiting for 2 to arrive, have recieved £8.88 from amazon for the sale of a book and i recieved £100 cheque from my grandparents so have put that in the bank - i will add this too as i wasn't expecting anything from them. I have also sold 3 items on ebay - i will include this in my total later as i cant remember how much it is off the top of my head as it hasnt hit my bank account yet but will add it when it does.
So far my total is £108.88. I have also done a couple of bank shifts at work but i wont be able to count those yet as i wont get paid til next month so wont know how much it is.

I havent had the opertunuity to go to the gym yet as the whole family except me have been ill with a d&V bug so when i havent been working have been looking after them. Also OH is going away for a few days so i have a weeks annual leave to look after my nan as we normally both look after her bus as it is just me and she requires 24 hour care i cant get to the gym til OH gets back from there break so i will have to make do with the wii.

I have recieved £19.67 from eb*y sales so will add that to the total. Need to relist the items that havent previosly sold and list some other items this weekend while its free listings and also try to redeem another sb voucher am at 612/849 at present. wpould be nice to redeem by tomorrow night so will have to see if i can achieve that and also waiting for 2 other vouchers. I have a couple of things that i need to buy but am going to try to wait and order them with amazon vouchers so that i dont actually have to spend any money and that can go straight onto the cc payment.

  • You're doing really well with the vouchers and ebay - I've got a huge box of things to list, but they will have to wait until my tax return is done.

I love collecting and buying things with amazon vouchers because then you can treat yourself without feeling too guilty :D
