So, everything is pretty much back to normal now. Today I'm attempting to do a roast dinner for the first time, for 5 people...! I'm hoping it all goes to plan, but I'm stupidly a bit nervous about it! Haha. Going to have roast chicken, with roast potatoes and parsnips, mashed sweet potato, carrots, sprouts, broccoli and gravy. yum!

Starting from today as well, I'm going to try and reign in our spending a bit. We don't spend a lot, but our food shopping is creeping up every week and other things are starting to slip in, which we don't really need. Petrol is another massive expense, but this can't be helped at the moment, just wish it would stop going up in price :( our next focus is saving as much as possible for a house deposit - we're doing well on that front, but we could be doing better, iyswim? So, watch this space!

Right, best go and start to prep the veg...

So, I've done our menu plan for the week and done the food shopping. It looks like this:
Today: roast chicken dinner, with all the trimmings
Monday: Chicken salad with leftover chicken
    Tuesday: Filled pasta and sauce
Wednesday: Zesty haddock with crushed potatoes and peas (off good food website)
Thursday: slim fast (me) pizza (OH)
    Friday: spaghetti puttanesca

    It's all good :)

    AIMS/CHALLENGES:

These are different aims that I can continuing to focus on:
    House deposit - £11,404.71/£15,000.00
    [Emergency savings - £900/£5,000.00]
    Weight loss - 17/25lbs
So, I've updated the aims bit at the front of my diary :) Although me and OH are concentrating on saving for a house deposit, we've now got £900 in our emergency savings pot. Losing my job made me really aware of the fact that it's good to have money put away for when you need it. Luckily I've had a lot of supply, but it's going to come to an end soon, so we may have to dip into the emergency savings then, who knows.

I'm now at 76% of my house deposit target. OH is also saving - he's got the same aim, so if we both reach it then we'll have £30k as a house deposit, which will be great! :D
