Looking for a good toaster

Any recommendations??? Preferably narrowish 4 slice or 2 slice at a pinch. Have seen a Tricity advertised on the Tesco website, but can't get in to collect until later this week, so thought I'd ask here first to see if there are any offers around I haven't found.

In the lower price bracket, they're all a much of a muchness. You may have additional features such as a pop-up croissant warmer rack (which is useful for warming other things too) and defrost options.

If you are looking for a good quality toaster, look at Dualit.

The one we have now is the best we have ever had, a Krups FEM231. Found it a kitchen shop in a factory outlet for £25. It's done 8 years so doesn't owe us anything. I won't even bother looking for a different type when it does eventually fail.

Spend the pennies and buy a Dualit, they also sell all the spares so you never need to buy a new one again. Built like a tank.
My Mind wanders, if found please return.

I'd say go for the Kenwood - they make good toasters. Good value for money too!

  • We have a 4 slot Dualit, my wife bought it for me as a Christmas present a couple of years ago, along with matching kettle, and it is superb.

It even has a bagel function - split two bagels and put the 4 pieces in the toaster, it only toasts the inside surface. This is my Sunday lunch favourite when I get home from watching my youngest boy play football - toasted bagel with bacon, runny fried egg and a smear of red onion chutney.

I bought this on the strength of a Which? Magazine review http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4261869/Trail/searchtext%3EDAKOTA.htm . Which? 'Best Buy'. Score 70%

Makes excellent, evenly browned toast. Never had a slice of bread that didn't fit.
