Hi,
Well i thought id start a diary so i can check in and track how im doing and to keep me on the right track! I have been a member for a while and after following the great advice on this site have made great progress (im actually a 3rd timer but plan to finish this once and for all.)
I have 2 debts im tackling this year and OD and a CC so im hoping to wipe thses and then tackle the big loan - im aiming to be debt free by July 2013. easier said than done as money is tight and i work PT and DH full time and we have a DD.
Ive just sat and got some numbers and the CC stands at £376.37 and the OD at £296.78 - The OD is my main focus at the charges and intrest are killing me im doing the 1 debt in 100 days challenge to help me get rid of this as quickly as i can then will hit the card. Im hoping my xmas bonus in Jan will help with this too. I need to come back with some more numbers as im struggling with where my money is going and how much i have when etc think i need a budget plan, ive tried this before but find it really hard to work out as im usless with excel and struggle to make sense of my budget then loose track and im lost again.
One positive thing is that after joining this site and having my LB moment we have not used credit since 2010 (more because we cant get any lol) and have been a lurker on the OS board so my food budget and batch cooking skills have improved so much, my debts are on a down but its annoying how long it takes to put things right. Ive been in debt since i was 18 and refuse to think there is not a way out! we dont owe a large amount compared to some and my situation is so much better than in 2008 when we had nothing and were worried we would loose the house but it has to finish so i can close this chapter and move on so here is to the last leg!!
