So will take everything off onto disc, thanks Blue :A, and wipe and start all over again. Any suggestions?

I dunno.Usually the laptops i have had have been acer or the like so used their software to do that for me.What sort of suggestions are you after?

don't know, just thought would annoy Doc with techy talk

I have a Dell, and got it because thought Dell would be reliable. :doh: big mistake! mind your our Acer overheats! and shuts down :mad:

Yeah dell are hit and miss
My big acer laptop did that till i turned it upside down gave i a big shake and hoovered out the fan!!:D
I also took all the crap off now just use it only for coupons and plugging into telly to watch gibbs and the like :D

I did replace it with a lovley purple netbook though

The "techie" thing is nuts though.MIL can burn cds and make video dvds of photos and all sorts.Plays solitaire for hours and finds things i didnt even know were on her computer.But ask her to install a program she goes into meltdown:rotfl::rotfl:
