Hi everyone,
After watching Superscrimpers and another documentary about people who super save this morning I am determined to save money. As a new SAHM we really have to tighten our belt. I'd like to start with our food bill as I checked my bank account and worked out that I spend an average of £264.98 a month for 3 of us! This is ludicrous! I had no idea it was that much! I'm determined to make a saving on our grocery list but besides going down to cheaper products and making a grocery list and meal plan I'd also like to do take advantage of coupons. I just have no idea where to start.
From these posts I can see that you are all super good at couponing. Could you give me pointers on where to start?
Thanks0 -
Make yourself a cuppa and then sit down and read the 1st page as there are lots of useful tips on there and a list of coupons currently available. It may take a while to read through, but definitely worthwhile.
Also MT updates the shopping list each week with offers on where to get the best deal using these coupons.0 -

Hi and welcome, there are loads more experienced couponers than me on this thread but start by looking at the first page of this thread for coupon list, if you scroll down there is also shopping list to help you find cheapest products at each supermarket each week, changed weds, compiled by myrtleturtle. Also worth a look is Grocery Challenge on the Old Style board, they have meal planning and recipe help there, and the food shopping and groceries thread which has offers listed and advice around bulk buying, what's good quality in which shop etc. Good luck you'll easily reduce that bill by £100 from spending an hour with a cup of tea reading tips from this lot!0 -
thanks everyone. I really thought I was thrifty but the figures don't lie. I'll have a read and get my things sorted.
One thing I noticed when I signed up to beforeishop.co.uk is that you need to download some software which I did. Then when I tried to print off coupons it wanted me to install the software again. Surely you don't have to do this for every coupon you get through their site? This would mean your computer would have the program on it like 100's of times. Anybody know a way around this?
Thanks again0 -
don't worry figured it out! lol!0

Hi,
I am pretty new to using coupons and I have a cushelle one for 50p off, the picture on the coupon shows a four roll pack. Does this mean I can only use the coupon on a four pack, or is any size acceptable.
On the coupon the wording is '50p off your next purchase off cushelle toilet tissue' no where does it state 4pk only
thanks0 -

As long as the coupon does not state can only be used on a 4 pack I think you should be okay.0 -

There's 3 of us and I used to spend in excess or £400.00 a month!
Not any more! :j
My tip is not to think you are just going to half your shopping bill, the key is to stockpile the things you can get when they are on offer. For Eg. I have just bought 4 tubs of Flora but I don't need them as I have Utterly Butterly left from previous offer but they were only working out at 35p each when combines with Mr T's half price offer and my 50p coupons.
Same with Washing Powder/Liquid, I already have lots from other offers but I had some Persil Coupons due to run out and Mr T had them already at Half Price - I bought 4 as this is how many coupons I had - should have cost me £25.60 but I paid £8.80, also combines the offers today with the £5.00 off WYS £40.00. Todays shop was £60.50 but I paid £13.50 as I had a combination of coupons, WYS, Manufacturers Coupon and a money card from a complaint!
Good Luck Hun!;)0
