Hi all,
How do i find the plans to the drains at my house?

    You will need to contact your local sewerage company. You can ask to inspect a copy of their public sewer plans. They only hold records of the public sewer network, for which they are responsible. They do not hold records of private drains. Unless your property deeds contain a plan of the drains, you'll have to resort to carrying out a survey!

    You may find the explanation of drains and sewers (the difference is important) here helpful. There is also an explanation of how to obtain copies of the sewer records for customers of United Utilities. Other sewerage companies should have their own procedures on their websites, list here
