cooking then freezing meat

Options
i have made things in the past where i have cooked a meal and frozen leftovers to be reheated another time. But i was wondering (have tried to seach but cannot find answer) can you cook say a chicken or a joint of meat then slice it up and freeze it but then defrost it for sarnies obviously eating it cold? sorry if thats a really silly question but don't want to give us food poisening :eek:

    Not a silly question food poisoning isn't good!! Yes you can and it will be fine (maybe a touch damp and cold though) But you can dry it out a touch if necessary on kitchen towel.

    Yes, of course you can. Make sure you cool the roast quickly and freeze the cold meat asap, but it's no different to say roasting a chicken on Sunday, keeping it in the fridge overnight and then having it cold on Monday.
