When will be the best time to eBay/carboot?

Another thread by me today :)

When will be the best time to start listing stuff on eBay and possibly doing a carboot sale? Not sure if now will be a good time, as I am guessing everyone is poor?

We have lots of stuff we need to get rid of, as our house isn't big enough. We need a bigger house just to put all of the new christmas presents in, lol. Grandparents don't think where you are going to put all of their lovely big presents.

Good idea I would like to do a car boot or table top sale, really don't want to fill the loft up again.

Neither do I. I also don't want to just give the stuff away. As it is good quality stuff that hasn't been used much. Any £ is better than nothing for it.

But I have too much clutter and I need to get rid of it.

I could be wrong, but carbooting seems to lull at this time and then really pick up around Easter time; warmer weather tends to bring people out.

Try eBay on a Sunday I would imagine now is we're people wil start looking for items on the Internet, post Christmas bargains.
  • My eBay auctions are going wild today. Listed a whole load of stuff on 3 and 5 dayers to finish Monday. I think everyone was expecting a free listing weekend that didn't materialise and so didn't list.

  • I have a few things on eBay, getting really good activity... seems there are a lot of bored people out there waiting to go back to work... looking for bargins from peoples unwanted gifts.

I stick everything on at 99p, and you don't have any upfront fees that way :)

Personally I never list on ebay in January as I find most people are broke. Carboots are only really worth doing in late spring/summer from my experience.
  • Thanks for the replies everyone :)

Might have a look on eBay now and have a look at how things are selling.

Shall pop all carboot items in the loft and do one once the weather has warmed up.
