Duke Special is an outstanding singer-songwriter from Belfast whose headlining full-band tour has just started with most dates around Britain and Ireland sold out.
He has been likened to Rufus Wainwright, although to me he sounds like no-one I've ever heard before.
He is amazing live if you get the chance to see him.
You can download this (high-bitrate MP3) mini-album for free and listen to the new single Freewheel using the above link. There are videos to watch too.
One of the mini-album tracks is a cover of Stumble And Fall by Razorlight but the stand-out song for me is Love Is A Series Of Scars. Note that the mini-album is just a sampler of Duke's favourite tracks - his first 'proper' album, Songs From The Deep Forest, is a little more polished and full-bodied.

And before anyone suggests that I work for his PR firm, no... I'm just a fan who saw him live at Virgin Megastore yesterday and is going to the Ulster Hall gig later this month!
He's performing for FREE at Fopp on Rose Street in Edinburgh this Thursday (Feb 8) too. Starts at 5pm.

I saw Duke Special in Liverpool last night, having first heard him supporting the Divine Comedy. He's an incredible performer, and he seems like such a nice guy on stage - he's so modest. Listen to these 5 free songs! Or, better still, get free tickets... Somehow.0
