Definitely chicken on weekend half price not the mince. Leaflet sent online confirms this.

Cured pork loin joint at my store :/ No mince, I was really hoping for mince :(

I don't see the 1-09 mince beef in Sunny Scunny. I've checked the website and it's not on the back page where they usually are :( It's the chicken for us, Tikka is good in wraps or tossed with a dressing in salads.

Well the last time I got the mince on sale it was actually Lean steak mince and it was on a half price weekend for 1.34 per 500g. It was lovely!! I still have 1 pack left. I haven't tried their standard mince yet but to be honest, you can drain the fat. I know the fattier minces are better for burger as you don't need to add all the extras to make the burger stay together and they come out nice. I guess it depends on your cooking skills and what you can make and what your tastes are. As I haven't tried the standard yet I will reserve judgement until I do.
  • Just been to Lidl and stocked up on the mince, unfortunately they were sold out of the edam though.

However just got 2.5 KG Maris Pipers for 35p, 1KG of Carrots for 10p and 1KG of onions for 39p in my local Aldi.

84p for 4.5KG of perfect vegetables. The original price on 2.5KG of Maris Pipers was 69p! Carrots - 39p.
I am disappointed at the lack of fresh fruit and veg on offer at Lidl atm, the offers seem to be on processed foods. Aldi seems a much better purveyor of green things at good prices.
