They {little spends} are evil.. as are tuck boxes at work... I need to stop...
And right on cue Kerri has hit us with a no little spends mini challenge :rotfl:
I still haven't achieved last weeks challengeAt least I've got a fighting chance with this one.
rdchick if you do go to SA I hope you have a great time. I was supposed to be going on a volunteering trip to a lion park a few years ago but ironically got myself so up to my eyes in debt I postponed and rebooked it twice when I couldn't afford to go. I think knowing I had to finally just cancel and lose my deposit was the very start of my LBM.0 -
hello - another payment made for us.... little but we all know every little goes a long way

Kerri!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your a right one! How am I supposed to get bread if I cant top up shop  I refuse to freeze bread, it tastes foul and those people at all*nsons refuse to have their bread last for 7 days
your so mean! cant we have 1 top up shop for the bread/milk run but your not allowed to go to any aisle but those 2 and thats all you can buy??
I only ever eat toasted bread so don't mind mine frozen. If you pick anything up on the one topup shop except bread/milk, you put it straight back down again as you should have thought of it for the big shop
(this is mostly aimed at those that do a big shop a week to be fair, not the monthly big shoppers)

This weeks mini challenge: No little shops...
I'm a terror for buying a chocolate bar here, a bag of crisps there, all because I didn't remember something in my main shop. So DFBX's this weeks challenge is to not go on any little shops. If it's not covered by the big one, then you don't get to have itSuperscrimpers last night they said they went out for a £1 brush and came back with an entire bedroom of diy stuff... well that's the extreme but the little things do add up
Don't think I'll be able to partake this week, unfortunately I work in a convenience shop and as we did our weekly shop in lidl, I didn't buy any ready meals to stick in the microwave (need to have a hot meal when I work til 10 as the shop - especially out the back - gets soooo cold!) and anyway, I can get a lasagne for 90p with my discount which isn't bad!
I understand where superscrimpers is coming from with the DIY stuff, but that's all well and good if you already have the stuff. I don't have a sewing machine and wouldn't know how to use one anyway, but they had all that material, the carpet cleaner and the room was painted already!£2013 in 2013 £866.71/£2013

Cheers guys, Fantastic feedback so far.
So my thought plan is use an amount to pay off everyday loans. Thought the APR is 24.9% since opening it two years ago due to their silly interest I've only paid off around £1,000 of it!.
Out of all my set payments of £507.28, £233.14 is swallowed by everyday loans . So by paying this off I have a set monthly repayment of £274.14, meaning I have nearly 3 times that amount to throw at my debt. It properly not the best approach however if I pay all of it off I haven't learnt my lesson. This way I have to face up to my responsibility.
The rest is going in the bank in an account that's I can't see. My temptation is I'll just take £100 here and there and then it will be gone before I know it!
This way I'm still forced to budget so I will start to make it more of a habit!.
Long term plan I think throw a load more at the mortgage. Even overpaying for 12 months i can save an extra £1330 in interest alone and knock another 5k off.
Probably not the way I know a lot of people would do it but I'm also thinking long term. By paying everything off in one huge go and closing everything straight away it does not favours for my credit file and at some point once the other 3 places sell we would like to think of moving somewhere else (before you ask I've had a great run the last few years with people dropping dead around me!)
Jake's mum, you are so right about the education. Already at age 8 my little is studying for a European Computer Driving licence. He wants to design computer games or be a product designer! Here's to hoping he'll support me in old age! So I think a degree is on the cards.0 -

I know how very cruel! I did some ebaying the weekend before and relisted some stuff last weekendI would love to go to South Africa... there was a time when we thought about upping sticks and going to live there... don't think I could go through with it but the money would have been nice! xxx
Life is too short not to love what you do.0 -
Ok, ok, but only the bread and milk aisle....although milk freezes so you could buy in one big shop

Mini challenge accepted, Kerri :T however... I will have to break it once
BUT only because when we went shopping last night DH convinced me there were 12 tins of catfood under the stairs so I didn't buy any only to find out when we got home...you've guessed it...no catfood under the stairs:mad: BUT I suppose if I make him pay, I'm not breaking the challenge...;)
