I got back from holiday just in time for all the snow :)
It was really good having a break, as I worked over Xmas. Work was sooo difficult and stressful today after being away though. It makes me want to give it all up and move somewhere warmer...but, debts to pay and all that!

Good news is that I didn't spend half of what I budgeted while on holiday, bad news is I now have to change it back into pounds, so I'll lose out due to the exchange rate/fees, however it is most welcome after overpaying my CC at the end of Jan! Plus, my first Feb NSD today - although does my holiday count as NSD since I exchanged the cash in Jan and paid for it all then?! :D

I did a big shop online last night even though I live 2 minutes away from the same supermarket, but I had their £10 off voucher! So that will go towards this month's grocery challenge :j

  • Ok it's time for me to think about panicking now.... I've been signed off for another 2 weeks, with 2 lots of antibiotics. If my ear still isn't improving by then, it's time for a referral to ENT at the hospital. Trouble is, I get 90 days sick at full pay (which is still not great) and then I go on to statutory.... which will completely screw me over! :(

    Hiya,

I only get 10 days sick leave.

I'm in the US, land of 10 days vacation (holiday) and 10 days sick, if you're lucky. I definitely miss the 25 days vacation pay I used to get in England. I'm currently on sick leave and have applied for state disability. Hoping to get back to work next week.

Hope you get better soon, maybe you need to apply for ESA, I think that is what it is called.

Thanks :) I know i'm lucky to get 90 days, but with the nature of my job, there is a lot of stuff I can't work with - my ears being one of them - so I guess they have to cut us some slack (i wish!!) and although I'm being paid, it's basic pay so no commission or flight pay included :(

Thanks for all your suggestions everyone, I'll have a look into it over the next few days.

Reading all this talk of bingo just reminded me that I got emailed about a free quid I had been given in my paddy power account for use on their games :)

But while I'd love to report that I'd turned a quid into 100, I'm afraid that dream lasted all of 103 seconds

  • Hi need to update my total as my Next statement came out this morning - the interest was more than I was expecting

Also, just checking my spreadsheet and it looks as though I've missed something out. I've made payments so far of £872.03 minus interest of £91.85 leaving a net of £780.18.

£152 paid off catalogue :j I've got roughly £200 left to pay off my BNPL, treating that as a priority to save interest being added on etc which should bring my overall total owed down by quite a bit.
